  • Equality is more important than wealth levels (e.g. “The Spirit Level”)
  • Needs to move away from growth to degrowth
  • Occupy Democracy
  • Best democracies integrate difference and diversity
  • Workers’ democracy – e.g. 1970s in factories which acted in workers’ interests
  • Democratic education – create a culture of participation and citizenship
  • Access to information and who controls it – e.g. Edward Snowden’s revelations
